The site is bounded by residential properties to the west and east, by the high street to the south and to the north by a wooded area.  The site had previously been home to the Victoria Garage, however, the site has since been cleared of all buildings and now lies vacant.

Planning

The site had outline planning permission for residential development under planning Ref 09/00450/PIPSU with an indicative scheme showing 10 x flats and 6 x 1 ½ storey houses.  The decision lapsed on 3rd March 2013.  Previously the site had been allocated for a church and last used as a garage site.
